LumberSexual Men , There will be Beards

Usually we talk about guy liner here at PTB .
We have noticed men have gone , from metrosexual to lumber sexual .
Photo via Instagram

In my opinion this was born of Duck Dynasty's popularity in recent years. " The Walking Dead" also lets not forget "Sons of Anarchy "  Also the increasingly popularity of Alaskan Wilderness shows. making me remember, dear old Grizzly Adams. Was he a lumbersexual ?

If you're going to be a Lumbersexual then you must invest in expensive flannels, jeans , suspenders and of course leather boots. Also your drink of choice is whiskey, beer and strong coffee.

There is a burgeoning range of products to make " Beard Enthusiast " look finely coiffed .
One brand is called Zeus that caught my attention. They offer a large selection of lotions, scented beard oil, and boars bristle brushes.
Just to name a few of the products this range offers. Everything comes in aesthetically pleasing , man friendly packaging.

I'm a Lumberjack and I'm ok !

Yes Simon Lebon was once again ahead of the trend on this one, for he was sporting Lumbersexual as early as 2012 I don't think the British crooner , will adopt the Lumbersexual's lifestyle?

What do you think of the Lumbersexual trend ?

What is Eurovision ?

sonuç ne olursa olsun, #eurovision dan en azından böyle bir k... on Twitpic
Picture via : Twitter  Jedward : What are they wearing? They look like the
Ziggy Stardust twins . I will admit they are adorable

Being a pop culture geek it seems really odd , how did something like Eurovision escape me? Last year I logged into twitter noticed Duran Duran's front man Simon Lebon tweeting about Eurovision. So I found the live stream and joined in. I will tell you that if Simon is tweeting during an award show. Even if your not a Duran Duran fan you need to follow him. His commentary is really like nothing you ever read. He tells it like it is , with a touch of irreverent wit. You have to laugh most likely you were thinking it too.  Even public figures such as Piers Morgan retweet him. Enough about Simon lets talk about Eurovision.

What is Euro Vision ?
Euro Vision Song Contest is a competition held annually consisting of the European Broadcasting Union ( EBU)  Each member of a country submits a song to be performed on live television. Then votes are cast too determine the best dong of the cometition, Eurovision is one of the most watched non sporting events internationally. Since 2000 the show has been available on the internet. Would you like too know that ABBA were once Eurovision contestants. Well you'll see at the end of the post why this is a bit cathartic. This was two years before I was a twinkle in my moms eye.

What I love about Euro Vision .

I love the fact that you have established artists and new artists. Everyone from Englebert Humperdinck who represented the United Kingdom. Then you have this act from Russia which for me is a prime example of what Eurovision is all about. You have to see it too believe it , let you know I love these women. I am buying this song on itunes.

There is a  boy band favorite on Eurovision. Jedward seems to be one of those acts that came into the mainstream. What on earth are those poor boys wearing ??? This is why we love Eurovision it is just fun.

How do they vote for a winner?

This part I really didn't understand at first. So I took this excerpt from wikipedia
"Historically, a country's set of votes was decided by an internal jury, but in 1997 five countries (Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom) experimented with televoting, giving members of the public in those countries the opportunity to vote en-masse for their favourite songs. The experiment was a success, and from 1998 onwards all countries were encouraged to use televoting wherever possible. Back-up juries are still utilised by each country, in the event of a televoting failure. Nowadays members of the public may also vote by SMS, in addition to televoting." ( via wikipedia)

Honestly there is so much more to Eurovision this is a brief look at this contest. I decided next year we will do a more indepth coverage. A friend of mine on Facebook said that the best way to understand Eurovision is to just go with the flow. You should just have a good time in all honestly . I have been blessed to make friends from all over the world from twitter. Its cool to feel like we are all hanging in my living room. Cheering on our favs and in just going with the flow So who won ....Sweden check it out .

Pop Trash Beauty :Exclusive Interview Jemma Kidd

Since I've created Pop Trash Beauty, never have I had such an honor. Jemma Kidd granted us an interview. I've been a fan of Jemma for years. Well respected in every facet of the cosmetic industry. She is a mogul, makeup guru, teacher, mummy, author to name a few things on her stellar resume. A former model  who was more comfortable behind the camera. She emerged to become one of the most talented makeup artists in the world. In 2008 she launched her JK Kidd line with Target. Bringing her cosmetic line across the pond. Off the runway and into your handbag. Her makeup is wearable the price point is reasonable. Id like to thank Jemma for talking to Pop Trash Beauty. One thing you'll learn about this makeup guru, not only talented with the makeup brush. She has some seriously amazing taste in music.

Q: How did you get started in the makeup business?

I started out in the industry as a model, but I was never really comfortable – unlike my little sister Jodie! When I discovered what it was like being on the other end of the make-up brush, I knew I'd found the right career. I was lucky to work as an assistant to make-up supremo Mary Greenwell for five years and was then spotted by Premier Hair & Make Up Agency and taken on their books in 1999. Since then I've worked with leading fashion designers, photographers and a host of prestigious magazines, including American and British Vogue, Vanity Fair and Elle. I have also written a weekly beauty column in the Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine for the past six years. In 2003 I founded an academy in London to train professional make-up artists and to offer a range of make-up workshops for women of all ages. I have also created three distinctive make-up ranges – Jemma Kidd Make Up School (launched 2005), Jemma Kidd PRO (launched 2008) and JK Jemma Kidd (launched 2008) – which are sold throughout the UK and US as well as in Australia and Hong Kong.

Q: What do you see being the next big trend for fall makeup?

I’m loving the Sixties aesthetic that was seen on so many of the fall 2011 catwalks, from Anna Sui and DKNY in New York, to Moschino Cheap & Chic and Blumarine in Milan. This season the trend has been reworked through modern eyes: simple feline flicks, sultry winged eye shadow and doe-eyed Bambi lashes. To recreate the look try my new Sixties-inspired JK Jemma Kidd I-Sculpt Shadow & Liner featuring an innovative slanted liner to create precise lines and a complementary shadow perfect for sculpting the socket line. Finish with feathery, fluttery lashes for a full-on Sixties revival!

Q: Is there currently a product in your JK line that you are “addicted to” that you use on a daily basis?

My JK Ultra Plush Mascara and Mannequin Skin Complexion enhancer are my ‘can’t live without’ beauty products. The complexion enhancer is such a multipurpose product and can give skin an instant lift and the mascara is a must have for everyday glamour

Q: A lot of my readers are over 30. How does makeup change for us at this age? Are there products we used in our 20’s that we should avoid?

As you reach your later 30s, switch from out-and-out glitz to subtle shimmers that are more flattering and wont point out any fine lines around the eyes. There’s no need to stop wearing strong colors though. Pale skin, dark smoldering eyes and red lips can look inappropriately ageing when you’re 20, but in your mid to late 30s the Hollywood seductress style comes into its own for evening. Explore the benefits of high-tech anti-aging ingredients. Crème blushes and undereye concealers in hydrating and firming formulas will help to retain a youthful radiance

Q: Where do you look for/find inspiration for your fall JK makeup line for Target? What are your influences? Do you have specific styles that you enjoy more than others?

I draw inspiration from everywhere: fashion shows, films, books, design, art, nature, different cultures, people, photography…  I find inspiration all around me.

Q: Name five songs that are always in rotation on your iPod.
1. Adele – Turning Tables
2. Bob Marley – Is This Love
3. Radiohead – Paranoid Android
4. Mark Ronson – Bang Bang Bang
5. Coldplay – Fix You

Mark Ronson The Business INTL - Bang Bang Bang from Olivier on Vimeo.

Q: Do you have a favorite Duran Duran song or video?  (Duran Duran is an inspiration behind the blog. Many readers are fans of the band and Jemma Kidd.)

I love Duran Duran! Simon Le Bon is a friend of mine and I was sitting with John Taylor and his wife Gela at Wimbledon this year, as we were both invited by Ralph Lauren. I went to the Duran Duran reunion concert years ago. My favorite songs are Girls On Film, Rio and Ordinary World.

Rapture ( All We Need Is Now )

So a segment of the world is all a buzz about May 21 2011. It is the predicted day of the "Rapture" Its Judgement day to some where all of us go before god and are judged for our time here on earth. Some will be elevated to the penthouse. While some of will go to the basement floor. Nobody believes this more than Harold  Campaign and his followers.

"While he and his followers prepare to ascend to heaven this Saturday, non-believers plan to revel in what they believe will be Camping’s failed prediction. The Associated Press reports that many atheists are sponsoring “rapture parties” around the country, planning to gather Saturday night, with their own prediction that the world is still here"

Though I don't believe that the world will come to an end. My birthday is on Monday so lets hold out till then at least. So In the event of the Rapture. I thought it would be a good time to share my bucket list with you. A bucket list comes from the term " Kick the Bucket" I will warn you that there maybe some Duran Duran in there .
