I will do a post on my favorite Golden Globe starlet of 2011. For now Id like to look back on a Golden Globe starlet who set the tone for what we call now "Old Hollywood Glamour" . One image that comes to mind is Marilyn Monroe 1962 Golden Globes in her emerald green sequined Norman Norell gown. She wore green emerald earrings given to her by Frank Sinatra. She looked like a movie star in the truest form. There was no Red carpet apologies going on for her size 12 curves. There was no snarky commentators talking about her curves. Just Marilyn showing up to accept her award for World Film Favorite: Female . With her beautiful smile an sparkle in her eyes. Sadly this would be her last Golden Globe Awards show.

| "Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul". -Marilyn Monroe - |
What we could learn from that in 2011. When starlets are apologizing for size 8. When in the up coming days will hear about armpit cleavage. Some stylists will become stars themselves. While others who got it wrong will be licking there wounds. As an abundance of photos will flood the internet reminding them. To them I send love an admiration for taking a risk. So as I sit here in my pink leopard print pajamas with my cat on my lap. The Patriots game on the television the golden globes streaming on my computer. I feel like maybe I should go apply some red lipstick an wing tipped eyeliner while writing about this. Have some Frank Sinatra playing while sipping a martini . I posted below a picture of the actual dress that sold at Christies in 1999 for 96,000 dollars. Isn't beautiful lets all take a moment to appreciate it . All the sequins were hand sewn . Rumor has it that the dress had to be altered the night before due to Marilyn having a big weight loss in the breast area.
