Julian Lennon Performs 'IMAGINE' for Global Citizen's Stand Up For Ukrai...

Our friend Julian Lennon has done something amazing, well he always is in my books.  Lennon said on his Youtube Channel

"The War on Ukraine is an unimaginable tragedy... As a human, and as an artist, I felt compelled to respond in the most significant way I could. So today, for the first time ever, I publicly performed my Dad’s song, IMAGINE. Why now, after all these years? - I had always said, that the only time I would ever consider singing ‘IMAGINE' would be if it was the ‘End of the World’… But also because his lyrics reflect our collective desire for peace worldwide. Because within this song, we’re transported to a space, where love and togetherness become our reality, if but for a moment in time… The song reflects the light at the end of the tunnel, that we are all hoping for... As a result of the ongoing murderous violence, millions of innocent families, have been forced to leave the comfort of their homes, to seek asylum elsewhere. I’m calling on world leaders and everyone who believes in the sentiment of IMAGINE, to stand up for refugees everywhere! Please advocate and donate from the heart. #StandUpForUkraine” —Julian Lennon

Julian Lennon Everything Changes Signed Box Set (Review)

Julian Lennon Everything Changes Signed Box Set (Review)

Julian Lennon Photographer/Philanthropist/Musician has release the Everything Changed Signed Box Set. I was very fortunate to have a sweet friend gift it to me for Christmas. When I opened the box set it becomes immediately apparent Lennon’s meticulous attention to detail, in his assembling this multimedia feast for the music geeks soul.

The beautifully bound booklet houses the box set. Each section is gorgeously illustrated.   When I went to play the vinyl record seemed almost like sacrilege taking sliding out of its sleeve. Vinyl is meant to be played, Everything Changes sounds killer in all the right ways on vinyl. The Butterfly artwork throughout the box set is gorgeous. Each with its own theme, I see something different every time in the butterfly illustrations. The acoustic version of the album is gorgeous in sound and quality.

The DVD is rich with interviews, music videos including the documentary called Through the Picture Window. The documentary really ties in all the facets of this box set in my opinion.

When you visit  www.Julianlennon.com he gives you the opportunity to Preview the set via a  Virtual Book   Which walks you through the box set via a slide show.

"Behind Julian's music I discovered a story that's never quite been told; of constant collaboration, quiet perfectionism, fierce loyalty, frustration and sabotage then humble brilliance, and the steady facing down of mis-conceptions, of which there are many"
-Dick Caruthers  ( Quote via   www.Julianlennon.com )

My conclusion is that even though you may think this box set is a bit pricey Julian Lennon gives you a lot of value for your money. Including the fact it is hand signed its amazing. I recommend this set for all my fellow music geeks out there. This truly will keep you happy for years to come.

My Top 2012 Top 5 Music Addictions

Since I started doing Through the Night  on Total Radio UK . I realized I had fallen into a music rut. Everyday I read the trade magazines for my show.  I was sticking to the same artists and genres that I was used to. Being a self proclaimed music geek this was a bit disconcerting for me. Aside of the radio station  I've found other artists from facebook artist pages I frequent. Some of them were rediscovered to be honest. I know to some of you have known these artists for years. It was a happy surprise for me to acquire some music addictions this year. I mentioned only 5 but there are many others . Remember to tune in for my Radio Show Through the Night everyday 8pm EST on Total UK Radio. Id be so pleased to have you come by.

Jessie Ware
singer song writer signed to PMR records . She hold a English
literature degree at Sussex University, Brighton . She started out provided backing
vocals to other artists . Her album Devotion hit in August of 2012 . She is big in the
UK is starting to hit the United States. So keep your eyes and ears open for Jessie
Ware

Lady Cylew
"A taste for the dark but beautiful. A voice that will not leave indifferent, striking and penetrating the pores. This deep and haunting chemistry created by the lyrics to the melodies, mixed and fixed in melancholia bears each song with it's own life and identity that will echo in the listeners ear. CyLeW's music is a window into emotions, a passage through the grim an ugly, the sad but attractive." ( via http://www.reverbnation.com/cylew )
Keep your eyes out for this artist she is amazing

Julian Lennon
Everything Changes the acclaimed album by Julian Lennon will be available for world wide release in early 2013 . Lennon just came off a successful exhibit of his Photography called "Alone" at the Art Basel in Miami. Lennon also provided the backing vocals for Aerosmiths new Album  “Music From Another Dimension!”  on the track " LUV XXX" If you lost touch with Julian in the 80's this is a great time to rediscover this constantly evolving artist. Visit his website to view his Photography collections , Charities , brand new webstore . http://www.julianlennon.com/

Gregory Darling
Much of ‘Coloured Life’, the new album by Gregory Darling, is so instantly memorableit suggests that Darling is wired into some illegal song-writing machine. And when Darling sings “I’m gonna take the ride of my life/Take my mind up to the sky” on ‘Ride Of My Life’- the first single to be taken from the album – you know he is emoting with some kind ofauthority. Back when popular music was a tangible threat to the establishment, Darlingnotoriously turned down countless record deals (£1.5 million from EMI/SBK and even more lucrative offers from A & M, RCA and Capitol Records) and ‘Ride Of My Life’ surely documents  his synopsis and yet proves something else: a pure blast of classic, euphoric popular music is what the world’s been waiting for

Emeli Sande

"Emeli SandΓ©, is a soul and R&B recording artist and songwriter signed to Virgin
Records. A former medical student, SandΓ© appeared as a guest vocalist on Professor
Green's 2011 UK #1 single Read All About It and soon went on to achieve her own
chart success with her first solo release Heaven, which debuted in the UK Singles Chart at
#2. Her debut album Our Version of Events was released on 12th February 2012. "

Gaz Coombes

"Gareth Michael "Gaz" Coombes (born 8 March 1976 in Oxford) is an English musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the English alternative rock band, Supergrass. He first entered the music scene aged sixteen as the lead singer of the band The Jennifers which featured Supergrass band mate Danny Goffey. The White Feather Foundation

Julian Lennon Musician/ Photographer
Founder of The White Feather Foundation

The White feather Foundation was founded by Julian Lennon in 2009 . I’ve taken an excerpt from the website explaining about how the name of the foundation came to be

Julian has been focusing on ways that we can all make a difference in what has become a rather sensitively-balanced world.Symbolically, a white feather has personal meaning for Julian and therefore it became a natural name for his new Foundation – The White Feather Foundation.

“Dad once said to me that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok - that we were all going to be ok - the message would come to me in the form of a white feather. Then something happened to me about ten years ago when I was on tour in Australia. I was presented with a white feather by an Aboriginal tribal elder, which definitely took my breath away. One thing for sure is that the white feather has always represented peace to me.”  Julian Lennon via whitefeatherfoundaion.com

So what does  The White Feather Foundation do ?

They act on behalf of environmental and humanitarian organizations. Providing them with funding to proceed in doing the good works. These organizations run the spectrum so when you give to WFF your money is being spread out  into  variety of Organizations. I decided to show you two of these charities that WFF helps .

The Children of New Hope  via changesfornewhope.org

Changes for New Hope  was founded by Jim Killion who gave all of his life savings to help the children of  the Andes.  With an open heart of a true humanitarian he set forth to improve life for these children focusing on these areas  in recent days branched out

“    Lacking in everything from a decent place to live, food on a daily basis, healthcare and emotional support, Changes for New Hope began the long challenging process of connecting with the indigenous families, learning what they needed most, and focused on the most vunerable and destitute children. Teaching self esteem, values, English, art projects, inter-personal and communication, the project was underway.”  Via WFF

There good works caught the attention of the White Feather Foundation . Who proceeded to  fund many programs that helped broaden the scope of Changes for New Hope . Enriching the lives of the indigenous children of peru ensuring a brighter hopeful future.  To see more about  Changes for New Hope  visit them

Bees Action Network

"BAN believes that bees are suffering, like humans, from agrichemical overload, modern monoculture farming, GM crops and even mobile phone masts which interfere with the bees homing ability. This results in a depressed bee immunity and malnutrition is the result. These findings are backed up by the U.N. Environmental Programme report into the global dangers facing honey bees."

How can I give to WFF  ?

One thing most charities will tell you . If you cant donate spreading the word is so very important . WFF  has made it easy and cost effective to give. The t-shirt is extremely comfortable , high quality , doesn't shrink . I get this from Julian Lennon's very own fans . For your donation of 20 £   you get this stylish t-shirt . It comes in black or White . I even have a model . Maggie Bridges is a big supporter of WFF all of its good works . She raves about the t-shirt which got me to order one.  Many of Lennon's fan's take to social media to spread the word about WFF

"Well he said in an interview once he formed WFF to help give a voice to all the small causes that are normally forgotten and for some reason I related to it as how many voices are forgotten in life ignored unless already on a greater scale. Hope it makes sense to you so the Tshirts for me represent a great way to help all who cannot help themselves  "
Maggie Bridges - WFF supporter / Julian Lennon Fan

Please visit The White Feather Foundation to learn more about the various groups they support. The post was a brief over view of there good works.
