Rocking With Your Socks Out

Photo via Oprah.com Portia De Rossi wearing knee socks and heels

I was just reading Hilary Alexander’s (Fashion Director, Telegraph UK) Piece about socks being the new thing for Spring 2010 alternative to hosiery? Guess Portia De Rossi was ahead of the game when she rocked with the socks out . On a recent Oprah appearance with wife Ellen DeGeneres earlier this year . The look did catch my eye . What if you don’t have long sleek legs? Choosing the right sock use your gut instinct and play around with this look. I know it doesn’t matter the length of the sock, You can use trouser socks , knee socks , ankle socks . Its not suggested for the over 30 set , without great legs. I think that everyone can do this look in there own variation. I suspect the men will get on board for this trend it is rather sexy. Here at PTB there are no do’s and don’ts when you’re doing a trend. I encourage you to make it your own . Most designers enjoy it when you do this .They especially don’t want you to copy an ad or magazine spread to exact specification. Marc Jacobs said he enjoys seeing women out on the street wearing his stuff, in there own way. Sometimes saying why didn’t think of that . He was on Oprah I believe. Wow and the Oprah references keep on coming (ha!) In a somber note we will be celebrating the life of Icon Macomb McLaren in our next post. Manager of the Sex Pistols , deemed the God Father of punk . So be on the look out for that . So rock with your socks out ladies.
