Yes I promised a look at Seattle Street Style. I had gathered 5 looks an then deleted 4 of them cleaning out my galleries. Its a long sad sorted story that I will not bore you with. I'm exceptional at doing such things is all that needs to be said. Well the one pic that did survive was sheer luck. Because it just sums it all up in one photo.

The last picture is a riddle in the Seattle sculpture garden. Ive been thinking allot about how things aren't so obvious sometimes you have to shift your focus to see the real picture. Sometimes when I focus on one thing I miss everything. Its the unexpected things that occur that make it interesting. ( I think Thanksgiving got me into this mood)   So yes I had the perfect layout or did I ?  My question this post is this . Has there been art, music , fashion , cinema, literature that you over looked. When you gave it a try couldn't believe you had never had it in your life ?

How to Follow a Makeup Tutorial on Youtube

Youtube is probably one of the most powerful tools for the DIY (do it yourself ) community. Especially makeup community inpaticular. You have everyone from Professionals, blogger, drag queens,makeup junkies teaching you the tricks of the trade.
  
For a makeup novice a 5 layer eye tutorial must seem daunting. Especially when brush numbers an crazy products are being thrown at you. When you get more acquainted with the makeup world. You'll become more comfortable buying brushes an product.  Remember this is the place we answer all the question your afraid to ask. I have received allot of email about youtube tutorials. So let's try this one together.  Emily is a Youtube guru she is also a news women. I like the way she uses drugstore products in some of her tutorials.  This is a good one to try an most likely you already own what is needed . Youtube Makeup tutorials are great for learning new tricks an tips. You want another tip on free makeup training watch QVC when there selling an artists lines. Honestly I got a really great tip on highlighting the lip are that I use all the time.

Pop Culture : Jesus Toaster Trend

It's Sunday so it seemed the perfect day to talk about the Jesus toaster. This is one of the hottest selling items for the holiday season. No they aren't a myth they are indeed real. I'm catching a novelty toast trend on the pop up everywhere.

So  it looks like toast is pretty hot this year . Maybe even hotter then leopard print this winter. Glee recently aired an episode titled  Grilled Cheesus , When glee club co-captain Finn Hudson believes he has found the face of Jesus in a grilled cheese sandwich, he asks for three prayers to be granted: for the school football team to win a game .  So  If you could have any ones face on your slice of toast , Who would it be ?  What do you think of the Jesus Toaster ?

Manorexia

I have been working on a post about men an eating disorders for a long time. Allot of men read PTB an I'm grateful for that. Women aren't the only ones to feel the pressure that society doles out when it comes to body image. Men also have this battle. When researching this post I read that men have always suffered from eating disorders. Just recently in the 1990's the percentage of men with eating disorders has been on a steady increase. Some experts say that in the 1990's the advertising industry realized the marketability of the Male image. One could remember the Calvin Klein advertisements with a very ripped Mark Wahlberg as the jumping off point. You can even look at the music industry also. Allot of the men are extremely waif like in appearance.
I've watched these two segments an found them to be very informative. In understanding the Psyche of the Manorexic. I'm a visual learner so I found these to be helpful











Do you think that is a more widespread problem ?  Is it surprising men suffer from eating disorders? 

I like many women sometimes would blame men for my poor body image. Thinking they were allot of the pressure. I never thought to stop an think that they too may feel pressure.  In this culture it all seems we are all under pressure. Who are we answering too in all this madness are we just willing participants in this crazy machine. That's just my opinion when do we all start to heal. I think talking about it is a start. I will be doing follow up postings on this topic.

This broke my heart . I think all of us deal with this on some level not as drastic. To watch the battle these young adults have is really heart breaking . They don't know what causes BDD .
